Ural motorcycles & sidecars have been built in the Siberian town of Irbit since 1942. Originally made for the Russian army, based on the German BMW R71 combination, the outward appearance of the Ural has remained largely unchanged to this day.
After the collapse of the Communist government, the Ural factory was privatised and quality improved dramatically, as the company focused on export markets in the USA and Europe.
Engine capacity was increased from 650cc to 750cc and the air-cooled boxer twin now features electronic fuel injection to meet modern emission standards. Quality European components from top names – like Brembo brakes and Marzocchi suspension – feature throughout. Hydraulic steering dampers and disc brakes on all three wheels are fitted as standard, for modern levels of comfort & reliability.
Watsonian Sidecars are official UK dealers for Ural sidecars and will have some of the latest models on display on their stand at Motorcycle Live.
